From New Telemark Guide

After NTN's release, FrankenTele was first implemented by Jarl Berg (aka Jarlybart) of Bergs ski shop. The setup consisted of using an Scarpa TX Boot (which has Dynafit fittings) along with an NTN binding. In lieu of the NTN heel piece, a Dynafit heel was used. This allows the heel to act as a riser for tour mode and telemark ski mode and lock the heel down for Alpine ski mode.
